Responsible Gambling
Last updated: August 2026
Gambling should be entertainment, not a way to make money or to deal with stress. If it stops being fun, step away.
Staying in control
- Set a deposit limit before you play, and treat it as spending money you can afford to lose.
- Never chase losses. The odds do not change because you are behind.
- Set a time limit as well as a money limit.
- Do not gamble when you are upset, tired, or under the influence.
- Use the deposit limits, reality checks, cool-off periods and self-exclusion tools that every licensed operator is required to offer.
Signs it may be a problem
Spending more than you planned, hiding it from people close to you, borrowing money to play, or feeling anxious when you are not playing.
Where to get free, confidential help in Canada
Most provinces also run their own free helpline — search for your province plus "problem gambling helpline".

Nobody under the legal age in their province may gamble. If children use your device, consider filtering software such as Gamban or Net Nanny.
